01 The Company

From Bayport to Crystal River, we fish some of the most productive water on Florida's Gulf Coast. Our home port, MacRae's of Homosassa, has been a landmark for anglers for generations.

For sight fishing and fly fishing, we pole an East Cape Vantage — a sleek, modern skiff built to put you on fish in the shallowest, most remote spots. When it's time to chase inshore species, we step aboard our fully rebuilt classic 1968 Flat Back Aqua Sport, a piece of fishing history brought back to life for today's anglers.

We offer half-day and full-day charters targeting trout, redfish, and snook, fly fishing for tarpon, and grouper trips on spin or fly. Want something different? We can set up a custom shore lunch right on the islands. And when you want to bend a rod on something bigger, our nearshore grouper trips put you on hard-fighting gag and red grouper around the ledges and reefs just off the coast — no long run required. Whether you want a laid-back day inshore or a nearshore tug-of-war with a grouper, we've got the boat, the gear, and the local knowledge to make it happen.

Capt. Jonathan “Stump” Hamilton

Born and raised in Florida, Stump is a 7th-generation outdoorsman with deep roots in the land and water of the Nature Coast. Growing up in an agricultural family, he learned the value of hard work and a lifelong respect for natural resources. For the past 15 years he's guided anglers from all over the world through the pristine waters of Homosassa — from giant tarpon on fly to grouper, trout, and redfish, blending time-tested local knowledge with a sense of adventure. Capt. Madison MacDonald

Guide · Sight Fishing & Fly

A lifelong Homosassa native with deep roots along the Nature Coast, Madison grew up on these waters and developed a passion for the unique ecosystems that make Homosassa one of Florida's premier fisheries. He specializes in sight fishing for redfish on spin and fly, and pursues tarpon on fly during the annual migration, running an 18-foot Maverick HPX-V technical skiff built to access shallow flats, creeks, and backcountry. Put him on a tailing redfish or a rolling tarpon and you'll see why anglers come back to fish with him season after season.
